About Us

Design and engineering, under one roof.

WiseGuy Design is a small studio with a long track record. We take projects end to end — strategy, design, build and support — so you have one team accountable for the result, not three.

Guilio Delfava, founder of WiseGuy Design

Our Story

Twenty years of shipping things that work.

We started where a lot of good studios start — with design. Two decades on, that grounding is still the reason our software looks like someone cared, and our brand work holds up once it hits a real screen.

Today we build web applications, mobile apps and the brand systems that hold them together. Small team, senior hands, no layers between you and the people doing the work.

Based in Gqeberha, South Africa, working with clients wherever they are.

Our Disciplines

The work we take on.

We're a senior team with two decades of designing and building enterprise, cloud, mobile and web systems — deep hands-on engineering, plus the architectural view of how a whole system fits together and where it should go next.

We work end to end: strategy and art direction through to the front-end build, so nothing gets lost in the handoff between design and code.

Website Rescue

Something on your website is broken, slow or throwing errors — we find out what, tell you what it costs, and fix it.

Website Care Plan

WordPress and plugin updates, backups, security, monitoring and monthly development time — a developer on hand, not a hosting plan.

Software Development

Custom web applications, dashboards and systems built for performance, scalability and reliability.

UI/UX Design

User research, flows, interface design and design systems — screens put in front of real people before anybody builds them.

App Development

Beautiful iOS & Android apps with seamless user experiences that engage and convert.

Business Analysis

Requirements, flows and a costed roadmap for a mobile app, web app or software build — settled before anybody writes code.

Code Audit

An independent review of your mobile app, web app or software codebase — what's solid, what's risky, and what each fix is worth.

Quality Assurance

Test plans, real-device testing and automated regression suites for mobile apps, web apps and software — so releases stop breaking things.

Website Hosting

Fast, secure managed hosting on South African infrastructure — with someone who answers when something breaks.

Email Setup & Migration

Professional mailboxes on your own domain, with spam filtering, webmail and deliverability set up properly.

How We Got Here

A practice built one project at a time.

Today

WiseGuy Design

Running end-to-end digital projects — software, brand and mobile — for businesses that want one team accountable for the whole thing.

Product & platform work

Building SaaS dashboards, e-commerce storefronts and mobile apps, with a focus on performance, clean architecture and long-term maintainability.

Earlier

Design foundations

Two decades of design and front-end practice across print, brand and web — the reason the engineering side still cares what things look like.

Questions

Working with us.

The questions people ask before they commit to a studio, answered the way we would answer them on a call.

Who will actually work on my project?

The people you speak to. We are a small studio, so the person who scopes the work is the person who does it or who is directly responsible for it — there is no account manager relaying messages to a team you never meet.

What do you build things with?

Mostly React and Next.js on the web, with Node.js behind it, and native tooling for iOS and Android. The stack is listed in full on this page. We pick boring, well-supported technology on purpose: the interesting choice is usually the one that becomes impossible to hire for in three years.

What happens after a project launches?

Whatever you want to happen. Some clients hand the site back and edit it themselves; most stay on hosting with us and come back when something needs changing. We do not lock work behind a retainer, and everything we build is yours — including the domain, which is registered in your name from the start.

Can you take over a project somebody else started?

Often, yes, and a code audit is the honest way to find out. We will review what exists and tell you whether it is worth continuing or whether starting again is genuinely cheaper — including when the answer is that the existing developer should finish it.

Ready to bring your idea to life?

Let's create something amazing together.
