How do you price a build like this?
After a discovery phase, against a scoped roadmap — not off a brief. Discovery is a small, fixed piece of work on its own, and if you take the scope elsewhere afterwards it's still yours.
Can you work on a system we already have?
Often, yes. We start with an audit of what's there and come back with what's worth keeping, what's worth rewriting and roughly what each would cost. Sometimes the answer is that it's fine and you need three specific fixes.
What stack do you build on?
Usually TypeScript with Next.js and React on the front, Postgres behind it, deployed to Vercel or Azure. Boring, well-documented choices you can hire for — not something clever that only we understand.
Who owns the code?
